At MediaFace we transform our clients’ content strategies so they can reach and engage with their audiences. We develop content that matters. To support our strategies, we have great tools including video, animation, eLearning, web development, design, and so much more.

The perfect bilingual producer is someone who is highly organized, trustworthy, confident and sincere. Our perfect candidate would be a strategic thinker, ready to give a POV, able to proactively see gaps and have solutions ready. The job is best suited for someone with similar or transferable experience and is ready to jump in on day one.

We need a producer who wants a dynamic position producing stories including mini-docs, features and reporter-style pieces for our clients, along with social media content. You will develop original content in both French and English.

You must be able to work with ease communicating with francophone clients.

Desired Skills and Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, media, or a minimum two years of equivalent relevant professional experience
● Superior written skills including broadcast, online and social media
● Superior verbal and written French language skills (Canadian)
● Understanding of basic budgeting, profitability and staffing issues
● Track record of relationship building
● Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams
● Ideally, you know how to video edit at least a rough assembly

Responsibilities

● Develop long and short-term strategies, tactics and plans
● Ability to identify opportunities for business growth and incremental opportunities with client partners
● Write, edit, proofread and approve materials
● Maintain brand integrity and strategy for MediaFace and clients
● Keep abreast of new social media sites, web technologies, and digital marketing trends; implement these new technologies in developing campaigns and update current campaigns to include new information.

● Have a good sense of quality control and direction

MediaFace is looking for an experienced, passionate and talented WordPress Developer to join our growing team in Toronto’s Leslieville.

In this part-time, permanent position, you’ll work with a variety of clients to exercise your three to five years of experience in: WordPress, WordPress Plugins, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3, HTML5 and Responsive UX/UI design.

Primary Responsibilities:

● Development and customization of WordPress sites using custom or template themes
● PHP application development, writing custom theme functionality
● Integration of content into WordPress themes
● Front-end interface development of WordPress themes using HTML/CSS/PHP and JavaScript
● WordPress plugin integration and development

Initial Skills and Qualifications:

● Three to five years experience working with WordPress, PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript developing accessible sites (AODA – WCAG 2.0 AA)
● Comfortable with MySQL and the architecture of the WordPress database
● Experience developing custom WordPress themes or plugins using PHP
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with design teams
● An eye for good design and clean user interfaces
● Self-directed and able to manage your time effectively
● An entrepreneurial spirit with a predisposition to showing initiative
● Knowledge of best practices regarding client management during the web development process

Bonus

● Skilled in AJAX or other languages such as Ruby on Rails or Python
● Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
● Familiarity with creating and modifying Custom Queries in WordPress
● Advanced knowledge of MySQL or other Databases
● Fundamental understanding of SEO
● Experience with mobile application development, either in iOS or Android
● An interest in education, health or safety
● Adaptable and willing to take on new and emerging roles
● Knowledge of designing for accessibility in communication (AODA – WCAG 2.0 AA)
● French-language skills
